Los Cabos Museum of Natural History

On the main square, this museum houses many interesting exhibits relating to area history, including artifacts from notable shipwrecks and ancient fossils. Admission is free.

El Faro Viejo

A popular excursion is to this turn-of-the-century lighthouse on the dunes at the extreme southern tip of the peninsula. The building is currently undergoing renovation but the location’s real attraction is a view of a Pacific sunset that is unforgettable. Much of the film “Troy,” starring Brad Pitt, was shot here. The lighthouse was built at Cabo Falso  in 1905 of fired adobe brick. In 1967 a red-and-white striped lighthouse, built of cement, was erected nearby, as the old one suffered from the ravages of the sea. The original French-manufactured Fresnel lens from the first structure was adapted for motorized use and installed in the second lighthouse. Half the fun of a visit to the lighthouse is getting there on an ATV (all-terrain vehicle) or on horseback. Organized ATV tours are the most common way to visit and the best tours are organized by Tio Sports Adventure & Nature. This experienced outfit offers a wide range of outdoor activities, including snorkeling and scuba diving. Tel. 143-3399. If you embark on an unguided tour of this site, be sure to carry extra water for yourself and extra fuel for your vehicle. Cabo Falso is a windswept and remote area, and more than a few cars get stuck in the soft sand, so use caution.

Boat Rides

Boat outings are a great way to view this coast and its attractions. Caborey, a catamaran measuring 134 feet, is a family oriented floating cabaret offering three decks of live entertainment, including a nightly tango show, and gourmet dining, shopping and daytime snorkeling tours. Tel. 143-8260. Cabo Expeditions, at the Costa Real Cabo Hotel, has a three-hour snorkeling excursion to three different sites, as well as whale-watching tours, aboard Zodiac rafts. Tel. 143-2700. The Oceanus double-deck catamaran cruiser offers a four-hour sightseeing excursion along the coast, from Cabo to San Jose and back. Tel. 143-3929.

San Ignacio

San Ignacio is a palm oasis town in the state of Baja California, at the site of the Jesuit Mission San Ignacio founded in 1728. There is a large spring pond and a small river on the outskirts of town, surrounded by a large grove of lush green date palms, and it is an amazing place to explore. In the town, you will find some beautiful 18th century buildings from the Jesuit mission.

Guerrero Negro

Guerrero Negro is a city located on the edge of the Vizcaino Desert, in Baja California. Its primary industry is salt, but I highly recommend you pay a visit to this city, specially to the Laguna Ojo de Liebre or Scammon's Lagoon, where you can enjoy whale watching, I promise it is a lifetime experience!

San Quintín

San Quintín is a coastal town, located on the west coast of Baja California, and has very beautiful beaches and many places for tourists to stay and can enjoy fishing, camping, bird watching, surfing, and clam digging. You can also visit the Misión Santo Domingo de la Frontera, situated about 20km north of town.

Ensenada

Ensenada in Baja California is located 116 km south of Tijuana, known as the Cinderella of the Pacific, is the destination for short cruise ship trips from the Los Angeles area. It boasts some very interesting attractions, like "La Bufadora", one of the largest marine geysers in the world, several surfing spots like San Miguel Beach, and the spectacular grey whale's annual migration from Alaska to the lagoons of Baja California Sur.

Puerto Nuevo

Puerto Nuevo in Baja California, is a small fishing town known as the "Lobster Capital of Baja", with nearly three dozen restaurants specializing in lobster, and this specialization is the town's primary tourist attraction, so you know what to eat when you are visiting! The lobster is prepared "Baja California style", cut in half, fried and served with tortillas and beans.

Playas de Rosarito

Playas de Rosarito or Rosarito Beach, is a city in Baja California, very popular as a college students and young people from US destination for Memorial Day weekend and Labor Day weekend. Miles of beaches, dance clubs, hotels, and other attractions like the Fox Studios, contribute to maintain the touristic growth of the town.

Mexicali

Mexicali is the capital of the state of Baja California, Mexico, bordering the state of California, U.S, and it's among the most racially diverse cities in Mexico, which adds a very strong multicultural flavor to the city. La Chinesca, Mexicali's Chinatown, has the reputation of having one of the finest Chinese food cuisines on the entire North American continent.
